Status Reports Get a Significant Overhaul

Project Status Reports in Projenta have been rebuilt from the ground up — better structure, a new publish-and-share flow, and a full history log so nothing gets lost.

Why we rebuilt Status Reports

Project Status Reports (PSRs) were one of Projenta's original features, and they showed their age. The editor was limited, sharing was clunky, and there was no real history — if you wanted to see last month's report, you were hoping someone saved a copy somewhere. We've rebuilt the entire PSR experience and it's shipping today.

What's new

Structured sections, not a blank page. Every report now has a consistent structure: Summary, Progress This Period, Key Decisions, Risks & Issues, and Next Steps. Sections are collapsible and all fields are optional, so you can keep reports lean or detailed depending on the audience. The structure makes reports scannable and — critically — makes them comparable week over week.

A real publish flow. Draft a report, review it, then publish. Published reports are immutable snapshots — they won't change if task data changes after the fact. Stakeholders get a shareable link that doesn't require a Projenta login, so you're not forcing your executive sponsor to create an account just to read a Friday update.

Full report history. Every published PSR is stored in the project's Report History tab. You can see all past reports in chronological order, compare periods, and link to specific reports in external documents. No more lost updates.

Health and metrics pulled automatically. When you open a new report draft, Projenta pre-fills the header with current project health, completion percentage, and days to deadline. You still write the narrative — that requires human judgment — but the data is already there.

A note on the old PSR format

Existing reports have been migrated to the new history log. The content is preserved, though formatting may look slightly different given the new structure. If anything looks off, let us know via support.

What's coming next

Projenta AI can now draft Status Reports from a prompt ("Draft this week's PSR for the Website Launch project") — it pulls in current task and RAID data and writes a structured first draft you can edit and publish in minutes. That capability is live today as part of the Projenta AI launch. Scheduled report reminders — a nudge to project leads when a report is due — are on the roadmap for Q2.
